I am home!!! and a card

Wow, after 8 days on the road I am SOOOO excited to be home. I spent Feb 14th in a hotel room with the slowest internet connection...but managed to make it to the PTI release party. Thank you all for your tremendous support. I was flattered to see the amazing PTI design team creations using Shapes by Design (ok so that was just crazy linking to my own set *lol*) and I look forward to seeing yours too. It's a Jolly Holly Snowman and a Princess...

I had planned to upload a card yesterday (photo taken quickly and uploaded) but was too busy too do so...read below!
I can hardly believe it is the first day of fall today. This is a really special day for me actually and I get to celebrate it EVERY year as my daughter turns a year older. Livi turned 4 today. We saw the likes of Polly Pocket, Littlest Pet Shop, "cooking stuff" and PRINCESS! I remember the pink days...they were so long ago! We celebrated Livi's b-day party with her lil' friends yesterday afternoon. It was busy and fun. She was SOOO proud to be 4.



Isn't she a beauty??? Her hat reads Birthday Princess...very suiting!

Have you ordered your CHF backgrounds?

All I can say is I am LOVING the look of these FRESH backgrounds. The more people are working with them the more I fall in love with them. If you haven't had a chance to browse card/project samples using the new backgrounds I recommend checking out the CHF gallery . The fresh face designers are creating more by the day and soon enough I too will be adding to the gallery...still awaiting my backgrounds *wink*

BREAKING NEWS CHF...

The release has been bumped up to tonight at the strike of midnight! Liz and Richard have decided to release the sets earlier than first anticipated. Isn't that exciting?????

So now...more tidbits...imagine if you will something gingham, something scalloped, something French, something cheesecloth...*insert grin* And don't forget that bark I told you about earlier.

More Cornish Heritage Farms tid bits....

So you know they are background stamps...
You know they were made with a masculine theme in mind (but versatile none the less)
You know they will be released THIS WEEK...

But what you may not know is there is something a little earthy going on. Check it out.
I just ADORE that background. It has so much potential I can hardly wait to play with it. Imagine it for a western theme...oh the possibilities. Don't you love the way Kristine made it look like cracked ice? She is a clever gal! Lisa Silver also share a little cracked earth too. I LOVE her design. So natural.
Speaking of natural...how about some more juicy deets to gnaw on...check it out. Or this double whammy creation with two backgrounds. Can you see them? Some more wood as well as tulle. Dawn you are rockin'--thanks for sharing those creations Are you loving that tulle yet? How about NOW? Is that a clever use of a background stamp or what? Way to go Tami!
So now you are probably wondering why I am not sharing my backgrounds. Well...the truth is I am being the queen of patience right now. They are still in postal land somewhere. Fall Flowers for Victoria!

Can you tell fall is on my mind? Pumpkins in the last post and fall flowers in this post. This is a quick post to say PLEASE join me and other SCSers in a challenge to brighten a young girl's day named Victoria who has cancer. Her teacher has sent out a request for cards for Victoria. She would really like to collect one from every state and her teacher has sent this out because she would really like to bombard her with cards. What a FUN and EASY thing all of us could do! CHF Sneak Peak

The launch for something BIG is just around the corner. Do you know how amazing it is to be able to tell you something...on September 20th Cornish Heritage Farms is going to be releasing 8 stamps that require 'lotsa' ink*big hint*. They are geared towards masculine designs (wohoo! FINALLY!) My goodies have yet to arrive (yay for living in the sticks!) It's my first Kinkade!

I have been looking forward to playing with my 'Make a Wish Cottage Vignette", Thomas Kinkade Series since I received it last month. The only problem was I didn't know where to begin! Of course with a little digging I found that CHF has THE BEST tutorial on attacking this beautiful piece of etched rubbah (thanks Asela)! Not only that, there are some drool worthy artists who have done a phenomenal job with ALL of these beautiful Kinkade stamps in the Design Team Thomas Kinkade Gallery
I love that CHF has designed a Thomas Kinkade Series forum where people can chat, ask questions and progressively work through beginners, intermediate and advanced techniques.
I also did a quick scan on SCS and there some wonderful Thomas Kinkade ideas to help you get started too.

Ways to use it challenge...

Yesterday's ways to use it challenge on SCS had us using something spiral on our card. Many people opted to grab the spiral punch. I have seen the filmstrip before but have never attempted one. I had fun making my doggie peak out the window. Isn't he the cutest dog you have ever seen? It is a retired CHF stamp.



My favourite part about this card is the "chain" holding the sentiment ruff day. It is made using jump rings. I have included a close up for your viewing convenience *wink*.

Some warm fuzzies...

OMGoodness...I am an organizational freak *lol* I LOVE it when my space is clean and tidy and I have the right containers, boxes, cases etc for all of my items. They need homes too you know! (did you hear me justifying that purchase?) I received my Clip It Up! (both tiers) today and decided with the amount of "stuff" I have in this room I might as well see some of it. Although both tiers were cha ching! it was worth EVERY penny (more justification on spending a small fortune). I will have to post a photo of it later just to show you how FABULOUS it is. I have a few more things to put on it yet *wink* Who knew a girl could have so much hidden stuff?

I have been working on lots of FUN things that I can't share just yet but I promise that once I am allowed to share you will be the first to know!

My work with CHF is really exciting too. The ladies that I work (along with Liz and Richard) are all phenomenal. Through chats you can really sense our excitement to get started not to mention our sense of sisterhood. CHF has many wonderful things in store for you and I know that you will be over the moon when you learn about them...very soon!

Hopefully I didn't "tease" you too much but to make up for it I made a lil' creation using with one of my retired CHF stamps. This little doggy licking snowflakes was just too darn cute to pass up. When CHF had their blowout sale a month back I bought him thinking I had the perfect "thanks snow much" greeting to go along with him. I used a CPS sketch (#5) for the general layout, then pulled out the DP, buttons and my Copics and started playing.

P.S. It is so hard to believe that 9/11 is here again. I took a few minutes today to remember how short life really is, to pray for all the families affected by this tragedy and to reflect on the things that can be learned from this "event" in history. Hugs to all!

Copic Flowers...

Well it's a new day! I have had my Copic Markers for just over a week now and I am feeling the courage to share a creation with you *lol*...those markers take some practice *wink*. In addition to trying a new tool, I decided to share a design using one of Asela's stamps from CHF (don't forget to stop by the CHF forums and gallery!)...I just love this sweet flower combo!
In an attempt to share some humour, the blue hue in the photo is the result of taking a photo in a blue room. My light setup had some issues tonight and I had to use a light in a different room hence the "blue hue" *lol*
