thanks.

Good day everyone!!  I have a few cards to show this week.  As you gathered from above things have been busy and I have missed my regular stamping sessions.  I am looking forward to going to the Local Scrapbook Store tomorrow to find some new things.  I think the last new thing I bought was about 4 or 5 months ago.

I just wanted to thank those that sent me notes regarding the books I posted yesterday :)  Particularly about the one I just started reading. It's nice to hear good things!  I have purchased books before that are painfully slow or just hard to get through but it sounds like I am in for a good read.

Today's card is a simple layout with repeat stamping.

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Create card bases and layers.
  2. Attach ribbon.
  3. Stamp images and sentiment on cardstock.
  4. Adhere all layers

Flowering thoughts.

This is just a quick post today.  I am working on report cards and want to maximize my time as we have family arriving in the next few weeks.  My awesome and talented friend Glenda teaches classes in my city from time to time and was up a few months ago when we swapped some stamped images.  I absolutely love A*Muse stamps, particularly those made by Julie Ebersole!  She has a keen eye for design.  And can I tell you she is the SWEETEST gal ever!!!  I met her at Winter CHA a few years ago and her bubbly personality left me in smiles.

Today's card was created using two stamps from A*Muse.  While I don't like making sympathy cards sometimes they are necessary.  Fortunately this one will just sit in my collection for the time being.

Supplies:

How many of you have started your Christmas cards? I have been playing around with my newest stamps and came up with this simple layout. I am still undecided about the ribbon but LOVE the bling nose.

Have a cool yule!

Isn't that a great saying? Of course it is...that is something I LOVE about A*Muse stamps. I am sure Julie HRR has something to do with many of those cool sentiments...

Today's card is another quick and simple Christmas card. You'll definitely see a few of those this week. When I attended the A*Muse class in July I picked up quite a few Christmas stamps... Can you tell I am trying to get ahead this year?

A*Muse class

Last month I had the privilege of attending Glenda Wyatt's Christmas card class I made quite a few classes and while I LOVED all of Glenda's designs, I used my creative license (as Kim Teasdale says) to use the products and try something else. After creating cards for publication and DT work, you kind of get it in your head that your cards can't in any way shape of form look like the creators card. While I created many cards exactly as she did this is one of the cards I decided to change...

One of my favourite things about A*Muse stamps is the simplicity of the images. I loved how Glenda paired this image and sentiment with these busier patterned papers. I also love the rounded edges and the shimmery ribbon. This card can be easily mass produced--and that's a bonus for a Christmas card!

*All product A*Muse except ink. The ink is Adirondak.

Make sure you check back all week as I have a post ready for EVERY day :) It's nice to have things in order again. Thanks again for your patience.

Thank You--for being in my life

It has been a busy few days here....still more yard work and landscape preparation. As some many of you know I took a break on Sunday and attended an Amuse-A-Palooza stamp class. It was super fun and I enjoyed meeting some local stamping ladies including Kim Teasdale. I also had the pleasure and honour to meet the classroom teacher Glenda!!! *what a sweetie* and a great teacher to boot.

Glenda shared a few pics on her blog from the event. Make sure you stop by and check them out. Also, one of the ladies kindly took a photo of us too using my camera (it look much like Glenda's).

And here is today's card...

Some A*Muse Fun...

As many of you know I moved from a small town to *the city*. Having grown up in a fairly large city I am used to city life. I think the adjustment to small town life was much harder for me. Now that I am a city girl (again) I have my eyes peeled open for opportunities to stamp with others. It just so happens that our local stamp store sells A*Muse stamps and is hosting A*Muse*A*Palooza between July 10th and July 19th. Of course I signed up for the classes--truth be told I am really looking forward to meeting Glenda an A*Muse instructor. Some time over the summer I am also planning to meet up with some fellow SCS gals--Angela Thomas and Kim Teasdale.
While I was paying for my classes I spotted some very cute critters and winter themed A*Muse stamps. And since it has been so long since I have purchased stamps I was delighted to add them to my collection.

One more baby card.

I was so pleased with how this card turned out. It seems all my friends are having babies again. Just when I thought the cycle was done for the year more friends are having babies this fall.

I prepared this "boy" card earlier this month in anticipation of the birth of my friend's baby. The time is soon :) I look forward to giving her the card.

Lots to share...

Hello everyone!! My birthday turned out to be a memorable one. I received the most gorgeous flowers from DH in the morning...

and then he treated me to a romantic evening at a world class restaurant. We didn't get home until very late. Our dinner reservations were in a town 30 minutes up the road and our dinner reservations were for 8. We seriously had a 5 star meal--I felt like a queen...they even served my dessert with a chocolate banner that said Happy Birthday! When food melts in your mouth you know you are eating something GOOD!

A quick reminder you have a few more days to get your cards posted using Shapes by Design and Wedding Day. The odds of winning are very good *smiles* Make sure you send me your link and post it to the contest link on the right. You also need to upload them to SCS using the name PTISBD1 for Shapes by Design (link HERE to see the gallery) and PTIWD1 for Wedding Day (link HERE to see the gallery).

I found a stunning card using Shapes by Design in the PTI gallery. Make sure you check it out HERE.

32 and counting!

Yup...it's true, I am 32 today!!!! I sit here smiling because I never imagined that 32 would come so quickly...after all where did 31 go? And 29 for that matter!!!! I hope to post for the 4th but have heard from DH that I will be taken out for dinner around 8PM...so we shall see--you may get to see the blue version of the bear card.

The newest Kim Hughes Collection release is today!!! I can hardly wait to play with Baked with love and Nature's Silhouettes.

Today's card is another card I created for my friends baby boutique. She opens shop on Saturday so I needed to make sure I had a good little stash for her with some variation.

Have a terrific day!

P.S. I figured out that the AV balance is off for yesterday's and today's card phtoos (DH took the camera out and changed the settings)...I am hoping to get some new pics of my cards to share. It took me about 2 hours of fiddling to figure that one out. Oh I am SOO not camera savvy. It makes a HUGE difference on how soft the card appears--more like it is IRL.

Happy Easter!

Wishing you all a blessed Easter.

You'd think with an opening like that I would have an Easter card to show you but I don't! My friend Ang is opening her baby boutique in a few weeks time so I am working on some more cards for her store. I could hardly resist this sweet Elzybells Princess!!! I had a productive day of colouring and layout prep...I will be good to go for mass production this week.
One thing I absolutely LOVE about A*Muse and Elzybells is how quick it is to colour the images...and their petite size makes them ideal for "kids/baby cards".

It's a Jolly Holly Snowman and a Princess...

I had planned to upload a card yesterday (photo taken quickly and uploaded) but was too busy too do so...read below!
I can hardly believe it is the first day of fall today. This is a really special day for me actually and I get to celebrate it EVERY year as my daughter turns a year older. Livi turned 4 today. We saw the likes of Polly Pocket, Littlest Pet Shop, "cooking stuff" and PRINCESS! I remember the pink days...they were so long ago! We celebrated Livi's b-day party with her lil' friends yesterday afternoon. It was busy and fun. She was SOOO proud to be 4.

Isn't she a beauty??? Her hat reads Birthday Princess...very suiting!

Okay...now to the card...

Is it pumpkin time yet???

Well only a few more weeks before we get to devour some pumpkin pie here in Canada! Mmmmm pumpkin pie is one of my favs especially with Epicure Pumpkin Pie spice.
I love picking out a pumpkin every year with the kids. Last year we had the kids pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch but the year before that we went to the good ol' Pumpkin Tent. The tent topper "pop" was inspired by a card Julia Stainton made a while back...she is a clever girl and I adore her work!
I leave it with that since all I want to do is just post this card! *lol* it has been an eventful day indeed. Tomorrow's card will be up on time so don't you worry *wink*

Recipe
Paper: Mellow (Basic Grey), Chocolate Chip (SU!), Whisper White (SU!), Blue Bayou (SU!)

Some warm fuzzies...

OMGoodness...I am an organizational freak *lol* I LOVE it when my space is clean and tidy and I have the right containers, boxes, cases etc for all of my items. They need homes too you know! (did you hear me justifying that purchase?) I received my Clip It Up! (both tiers) today and decided with the amount of "stuff" I have in this room I might as well see some of it. Although both tiers were cha ching! it was worth EVERY penny (more justification on spending a small fortune). I will have to post a photo of it later just to show you how FABULOUS it is. I have a few more things to put on it yet *wink* Who knew a girl could have so much hidden stuff?

I have been working on lots of FUN things that I can't share just yet but I promise that once I am allowed to share you will be the first to know!

My work with CHF is really exciting too. The ladies that I work (along with Liz and Richard) are all phenomenal. Through chats you can really sense our excitement to get started not to mention our sense of sisterhood. CHF has many wonderful things in store for you and I know that you will be over the moon when you learn about them...very soon!

Hopefully I didn't "tease" you too much but to make up for it I made a lil' creation using with one of my retired CHF stamps. This little doggy licking snowflakes was just too darn cute to pass up. When CHF had their blowout sale a month back I bought him thinking I had the perfect "thanks snow much" greeting to go along with him. I used a CPS sketch (#5) for the general layout, then pulled out the DP, buttons and my Copics and started playing.

Recipe

Paper: Chocolate Chip (SU!), Dasher DP (Basic Grey), Victorian Lace (Fancy Pants Designs), Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pallette Noir
Stamp Set(s): Dog and snowflakes (CHF), Thanks Snow Much (A*Muse)
Accessories: Buttons (MME), Word Window (SU!), Corner Rounder (SU!) Gelly Roll (Sakura), Copic Markers

Well that is all today. I have lots of work ahead of me for the rest of the week. Sorry this post was so late. DH and I had some comfy quiet time together last night. It was nice to relax and forget about the computer (remember I also do online teaching).
If you haven't been following Nichole's recent posts I suggest you go and see what she has in store for her September release. Of course I will be ordering them. Go figure Alli and Papertrey stamps? *snicker* Only 3 ore sleeps until I can order them...

Because I love to stamp and you do too!
Alli

P.S. It is so hard to believe that 9/11 is here again. I took a few minutes today to remember how short life really is, to pray for all the families affected by this tragedy and to reflect on the things that can be learned from this "event" in history. Hugs to all!

The Bees

I made this card early last month for a submission. I ADORE these bees and I can tell you without a doubt that Beate had some influence in that department.
I figured a bright and cheery card would be in order for September. I can hardly believe that summer is coming to an end. Somehow the rain and fog for most of July and the overcast skies of August made it seem like spring rather than summer (anyone else???). I was fortunate to find some SUN during our vacation so my white skin looks a little less pasty...gotta love that strawberry blonde hair and fair skin.

Recipe

Paper: Whisper White, Blue Bayou, Cool Carribean, Chatterbox DP
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Set(s): Bee Trio (Stampendous), Have a Bee-utiful Day(A*Muse)
Accessories: Prima Flowers, Scalloped Circle (Marvy), Corner Rounder, Sewing Machine, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen, Stampin' Write Marker, Glitter Pen (Sakura), Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads
