Yes, you read that right! It's PTI countdown time for my newest release called Wedding Day! I have been anxious to post but have been awaiting my set (which arrived TODAY!!!!) That's what you get for living in the sticks. At least I have four countdown days *smiles*.
I am so excited about Wedding Day. If you have been seeking a wedding stamp set with possibilities this one will meet your match. I have designed it to work with invitations, thank you cards, wedding favours, wedding cards, anniversary cards and much more. One of the BEST features of Wedding Day is you can set the date and save it too!!! (that's a hint) I will be revealing more hints and tips as the days lead up to the release.
Today's project was created with purpose in mind. Having been married 8 years it has been a while since my wedding day, but let me assure you not a day goes by that I don't re-live that those special moments leading up to I do! I remember the initial planning days and wondering how I would get from point a to point b. A few weeks after my engagement, DH and I sat down with a piece of paper and started jotting notes. As the months passed I found I had miscellaneous papers everywhere. So to prepare those brides to be I have created a step by step tutorial to make your own wedding book planner...
Step 1
I found this terrific book at Michael's for $1 CAD. It measures 8.5x3.5 so I started by cutting a piece of cardstock 9.5x3.5 (I want so overlap to tuck over the edge). You can see I scored .5 at each end.
Step 2
Using Spring Moss, I stamped over the entire surface in a linear but spaced pattern. Then I adhered this to the front of the book using double sided adhesive.
Step 3
I tied some ribbon to the edge to "disguise" where the cardstock meets with the white edge of the book.
Then I adhered some ribbon to the inside of the book (right at the edge)...
and folded it over. This covered the vibrant green edge and created a soft muted edge instead.
Step 4
After I created the edge with the ribbon, I needed a creative way to cover the rest of the green.
I punched out a piece of cardstock...
and adhered it to the inside of the book. (see tab instructions below)...take a peek at that circle and what it says...
Step 5
Next I got punchy and created tabs for my book. Then I stamped them with important wedding preparation tasks and adhered them in the book.
Step 6
I wanted to decorate the front of my book and decided to use the large oval, the words Wedding and Day as well as the decorative bar to fancy it up! (Did you notice the decorative bar matches some of the stamps Taylor showcased yesterday???) After I finished stamping I cut out the oval. Note: This oval will work with the largest oval scallop nestabilities. Spellbinders is introducing a new oval shape (one that is more oval *lol*) and the chances are this stamp will fit in one of the new die-cuts.
Step 7
I decided to create a coordinating pen so I stamped randomly over a legal size avery label then...
pealed it off the backing and adhered it to my pen by rolling it.
Here is a close up of the finished book
Here is my final project
You'll note that I added two pieces of ribbon to the bottom of my book and stamped two butterflies on my focal image as an after thought to the tutorial. *smiles*

In response to your question about getting married, No, but I WISH I was!! Of course, I've been happily married for 8 years now, but maybe I can throw another wedding just for fun! :-) This new set looks beautiful Alli - great job!!
Alli ... you don't play fair .... you know just where to hit someone ... my DD is getting later this year .... I just may have to CASE your project today for her. Look forward to seeing your other creations.
What a gorgeous project! I make wedding invitations for others and what I've seen so far is so classy and elegant. This set is for sure to be on my list of must buys!
This is just beautiful Alli... I have a friend who is getting married next February so I will be anxious to see all the wonderful things you will create.
Alli, the set looks fabulous(& the project too!) Can't wait to play.
Oh Alli - this set looks wonderful! Can't wait to see the whole thing. I think it would make awesome anniversary items as well! DH and I are celebrating our 10th this year and my inlaws just had their 25th. I can see the possibilities!!!!!Love your project too!
Wow, what a wonderful creation...you are amazing! I helped a friend with her rehearsal dinner invites and have other friends with kids who are getting married. Will definitely keep watching...as always! Looks like another fab PTI set!
Gorgeous. I just love the look of this stamp set so far. I can't wait to see the rest of it.
I'm not planning a wedding anytime soon!!!! as I've already been married for almost 10 years but, I definately have been asked to make invites for other people - so this just may be the set that I need!
I wish it was around last Summer!
I love this set - I am in the process of making cards for two seperate weddings. One for the Fall and one for April. I know both parties would love this line of stamps, can't wait to show them. That you for putting such effort in to the design of this set, your work, as always, is impeccable.
Oh, I love the idea of a little book to keep wedding planning stuff organized. I have my own wedding in 2009 that I am just starting to plan, and I think I might have to make my own planner now!
I've also been married for 8 wonderful years :) I wasn't into stamping then so I didn't make my invitations but I sure would if I could do it over! My SIL, her friend and I made my brother's wedding invites and it was wonderful. We were able to make exactly what we wanted, how we wanted it and had a lot of fun doing it together! What a beautiful set!
This set looks FABULOUS, Alli! I have been looking for a good wedding stamp set for a long time. I make lots of wedding cards for others and this set looks like the one I have been waiting for!
I want to get married, again! :D This project is just gorgeous! My sister is getting married. Hmm.... maybe she'll like this. She's not the most elegant person at this time. TFS!
I love this set so far. Looks like you thought of everything. It will be great to you for all those wedding and anniversary cards I make. Thanks Alli!
Karen J.
This project is a great idea. Your set seems very classy and elegant but also versatile which I like! :-)
I'm also happily married for 8 years, but my brother-in-law is currently planning a wedding! This set looks great for all of those necessary wedding cards and shower cards! Thanks for the organizational book idea!
Melissa
Oh Alli, this looks like such a great stamp set! I can't wait to see it in its entirety. And your project is wonderful. Very classy, as always.
Love the new set and your notebook. My sister is getting married next year and this would help her. I'm designing the invites and now have ideas running through my head like crazy! Thanks for sharing!
I had my own wedding quite a while ago. Now I'm in the making cards for other people's weddings mode. Love this set!
I have been happily married for almost six years now, but I didn't stamp ANYTHING for the wedding... I was so busy with the planning when my friends were getting started with the stamping/scrapbooking *craze*, and I foolishly thought I would wait until after the wedding -- didn't want to take on anything else! Looking back, I would have LOVED a planner like the awesome one you featured today... I do, however, STILL have a wedding scrapbook to complete (I am SO behind!), and I LOVE all things newlywed! :) Thanks so much for sharing your talents, and best of luck with this release!
Wow this is such a great idea and your end pieces tured out gorgeous! I have been married to 10 years now so I don't need to make anything like this for myself but I make cards and invites for others. I do it as my gift to them and it's such a good feeling when they are thrilled with the result ...(and that's the gift back to me). Oh I just have to make a notebook as part of the next gift package.
Wow, your stamp set is gorgeous and I love your project! I design wedding invitations and favors occasionally and I think this will create beautiful ones!!!
Oh Alli, I wish I had this set two years ago when I got married! Luckily, my brother is getting married this year. So I have lots of ideas. Love the sneak peeks so far!!
This is so lovely ! What a great idea as a gift. I have a few friends getting married this year -- how they would love to have something like this! You really make it look easy to make an elegant and special gift like this!
Yeah yeah, Im getting married on March 29th next year and this is just what I have been looking for!
Its going to be kind of a bitter sweet day as we moved the date from the beginning of last year as we sadly lost my Mum.
I have been fretting and worrying about finding the perfect items to make my coordinating sets and now PTI and you are bringing out this set and Im sure it will be perfect.
Im sooo excited as I need to make save the dates, invites and place cards.
(Those new ink colours look brilliant too. x)
I can not wait now - thank you
Karen xvery much x
Oh I just love this!!! One of my friends just got engaged and she would LOVE this set! Great job Alli!!!! xoxo
Alli - This is awesome! Your timing with this set is perfect, because I've got two summer weddings that I'll be working on. This set will certainly be on my list on the 15th.
Take care - Regina Davis
I am so excited to see the set in it's entirety! We are hoping to get married some time this year...we're just sneaking away...but...we will have a party after and this set would be great for invites and thank you's.
Charmaine
Love the little planner book! I love your set and have had lots of fun creating with it this month!
I love to make wedding cards. I love the oohs & aahs...
A friend of mine is getting married in May and I was just thinking about what a neat project this would be to give to her! She could capture all those special little thoughts/mementos in one place and have it to treasure long after her wedding day.
You did it again, girl! This is absolutely wonderful and the possibitlities are already numerous! Beautiful project today!
I NEED to have this set. I have 2 sets of weddings to do complete sets for and I think they are going to want these images used for their sets. They are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! Thanks for sharing such a great project, I can't wait to see more!!
Looks great Alli! Your project is lots of fun and really looks so elegant! :)
Alli, this journal is fantastic! My best friend's daughter is getting married this summer -- I can think of lots of uses for your set! Can't wait to see the rest! :)
As I said yesterday - this is already in the shopping cart. I'm already married - but hey - I love wedding themed stamps and will use these stamps up for others getting married!!!! Cannot wait to see more! Heather
So lovely, and elegant, Alli, and a fabulous set too!
Alli, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your work and designs! I also LOVE making wedding stuff. All the weddings gifts I've given in the past couple years have been handmade/altered paper and stamping crafts. Looking forward to the release of this set, look fabulous.
OOOhhh!! Your set looks amazing so far. I love the flourishes and the elegant look and feel. My daughter may be getting married in a year or two. She is waiting for him to officially pop the question. She definitely could use a wedding planner like that; what a neat idea!
Looks like a beautiful set Alli. I love your project!
hugs!
Hi, I am always on the market for a good wedding set that isn't limited. I have done invites for 5 different weddings and wedding shower invites. I would love just one set to own that would help me in all those areas.
I love your set. It is so elegant and I also see other possibilities for the set too. I love the notebook that you altered. The Michael's $ section is incredible.
Alli, you did a great job! Like many others that have left comments, I, too, am VERY happily married and we are working toward our 8th Anniversary. However, both my husband and I come from large families (he has 8 siblings, I have 5). His youngest 3 siblings are not married (and not dating at this time), but one of his sisters already asked me to help her stamp her invitations, etc. when the time comes! This set looks GREAT! :-) Oh, yeah, I also make TONS of wedding and anniversary cards! :-)
wow. Your set looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see it. It is killing me waiting until the 15th. My sister asked me to make her wedding invitations and her wedding is in July!!! Plus I work. She wants matching everything from place cards, menus, table cards etc. All of you sneek peeks are amazing. your timing is perfect.
Thanks again
Nancy
