All Boy

Good morning! Hope you are well rested and ready to tackle another day. We have a fun little trip in store and I am looking forward to a night away with the kiddos and my DH! I love summer.

So yesterday I mentioned that my children are 14 months apart and that in the early days I didn't get much scrapbooking done. Well this is one of those early pics that has been awaiting some love!

You can see that I stamped the circle ring with Baby Boy from the Classi

One of my FAVOURITE things about this page (other than the photo) is this stamped the felt heart using the Dots and Circles backgrounder and a black pigment ink. I heat set it with an iron (I placed a piece of material in between the felt and the iron)

AlphaNumber--A Sneak Peak.

What's that you ask? How about this ROCKin' backgrounder that is available at CHF in June? That's only a few days away now. Where did May go?

I decided that since the AlphaNumber backgrounder works SO well with Kim Hughes Making the Grade that I couldn't resist pairing them together.

I stamped and cut out the bottom of the school house as well as the door and placed pop dots to give the card dimension.

Capture the Meaningful Moments

I often get asked how I could conceivably plan to scrapbook...like there are WAY too many events to capture on a detailed page. Considering we took over 12000 photos last year (can you tell we live in the digital world?) I might be finished in 2010 and be about 20 years behind. So what's a girl to do? To coin Nichole Heady's blog "Capture the meaningful moments.
Last year my daughter had her very first ballet performance. It was absolutely the most ADORABLE performance. She lived in the moment and I knew I had to create a layout for THAT moment. The key is knowing which moments to pick. If you are feeling overwhelmed then set goals. For instance, create 10 layouts per child per year (if you do more GREAT if you don't...don't worry). You could also list the MUST haves for each year (birthdays, Christmas, summer vacation etc).

I stamped this chipboard using Espresso ink and Geometrics 2 Backgrounder and then softened the edges with brown and pink ink chalk ink.

I "painted" the chipboard with an acrylic paint dabber and then stamped it with the large polka dot backgrounder. I also softened the edges with chalk ink and then used a pen to create fine dots.
