Flower slides awarded and a fresh card!

I didn't think I would EVER get to this post. We were out of town for mos of the day (about 10 hours) and once we arrived home we had lots to unload. The kids were already sleeping so I knew I could finish my card and post it...well that was what I THOUGHT. Lesson: never assume anything. My poor boy has been feeling sick and scared since he got home. I have had in my stamp room for the last 2 hours. Most of the time we were cuddled up on the couch. It always makes me sad when my little ones aren't feeling well.

Now onto the card...

The card was inspired by some material I saw at a store today. I just remembered this crisp colour combo and thought it would be fresh for this gray winter day! Now remember...everything takes some getting used to...I need a little play time to get used to my new set up (colour balance, shutter speed etc...) so please forgive my first photo which was taken a little after midnight after the LONGEST day *lol* ...it's time for bed!

paper: basic black, whisper white, green (prism)
ink: brillance graphite black (tsukineko), whisper white (SU!), colourbox queue (clearsnap)
stamp set(s): beautiful blooms (papertrey ink)
accessories: cuttlebug (provocraft), flower templates (provocraft), corner rounder, green rhinestone brad, misc ribbon, spiral punch (SU!)

A quick thanks goes out to all the well wishes in regards to my son! I really do appreciate your support and want you to know that I am also here for you. If you have a child with SPD (sensory processing disorder), or think you have a child with SPD and just want someone to talk to, you are TOTALLY welcome to drop me a line. I know, from personal experience, there are days you feel like you are the only one going through it. Our son was diagnosed with severe SPD only 6 days ago. We knew he had SPD...we just didn't know what scale. We have a long journey ahead and I am happy to walk it with you.

P.S. Here is another place I got the colour inspiration for this card...Amy Mowbray's bathroom reno--the before and after are amazing! Amy and I started chatting mid 2007. Although we don't talk a lot we make an effort to pop by each others blogs from time to time (let's just say I stalk her blog until there is a post!!! ) Amy has INCREDIBLE taste--especially for design.
