Gobble Gobble Day 3

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  The countdown is well under way.  I am thrilled to share another preview with you.
I absolutely love this turkey and the fact that I have the ability to change his feathers too!  I began by stamping my bird, masking him with a cut out on a post it note, and then I stamped the feathers.  I also coloured around the circles using a copic marker.  I coloured his beak and then stamped the sentiment at the bottom.  I repeat stamped the “thankful” words line, adhered the layers and then attached the ribbon.
Thanksgiving is one fall event that we celebrate every year.  One of our family traditions is to write down the things we are thankful for during the weeks leading to Thanksgiving (which is in October in Canada) and then we read them at the dinner table.  A family tradition at my inlaws house is to draw a turkey on a piece of paper with your eyes closed.  In fact, because my inlaws used to move quick frequently they also had the guests sign and date the “turkey” book.  About 10 years ago I illustrated the turkey on the outside of their book and also had the pleasure of drawing my turkey with my eyes closed.  Do you have any family traditions for Thanksgiving?

I like the idea of your family drawing a turkey with your eyes closed...very creative and fun! We also go around the table and say what we are thankful for...a nice tradition that many families share and it's always wonderful to listen to everyone's answers!
