Take Three: Summer Day 5

It's the final day of sneak peaks before the release.  I can't tell you how excited I am today.  This set not only provides fresh images but so many opportunities to create amazing paper crafting projects.  Both the bird and flower can be used for so many occasions and through many of the season's with a change of ink and cardstock.

Bright Goodbyes

There is something about fresh summer colours and flower images that makes me feel warm inside.  Our weather was so bright and cheery that I had to include it in the photo.  It makes for such a chance from where I lived last year.  In fact May 15 marks our move date and we moved into our house on May 16 so we have almost been here for a year now.  It's nice to call it home.

Step 1: Create a base and layers.
Step 2: Stamp flower image using Pure Poppy on Vintage Cream and on the card base (you'll not I change the direction--that helps the flower lines seem more straight--or at least that is what I have been telling myself lol).
Step 3:  Stamp sentiment using Pure Black and place ribbon.
Step 4: Adhere layers.

Wonderful Friends

I created a cute little flower (as seen in the bird stamp) as an additional stamp in the set to coordinate with bird image.  I have been having fun adding it to my cards during the release.  I was thrilled that the image fit into several of the polka dot strips found in Polka Dot Basics.  You'll see how I have added three colours (snow cap, dark chocolate and aqua mist) to the card and coordinated each of those colours in the polka dots.

Step 1: Create a base and layers.
Step 2: Stamp card base first with Polka Dot Basics and then with flower image from Take Three: Summer. Stamp mini flowers.
Step 3: Stamp bird and sentiment.
Step 4: Attach ribbon and scallop strip.
Step 5: Adhere layers.

Mini Thanks

I wanted to show you a neat way to use Take Three: Summer that is somewhat out of the box.  I began by creating a mini card and some mini accents for it too. I just love how dainty this card looks.

Step 1: Create card base and apply impression plate.
Step 2: Create a scalloped strip.  Attach a piece of ribbon to a paperclip.
Step 3: Stamp large flower images using different ink and cardstock. Stamp circle (from Polka Dot Basics) around part of the image.  Punch out using 5/8 circle punch.
Step 4: Stamp sentiment on a paper strip. Adhere layers.

If you are at all a bit curious about the circles on the card, particularly the ones that look like patterned paper I have included a few photos below to show you how I made them :)  There is a ring around them too that is not in the photo.  I used the circle stamp from the Polka Dot Basic to outline the circle.  Make sure you stamp it BEFORE you punch it out.
