An inspired card and a treat for you!

The days are flying by!  We had some weird flu/cold go through our house this past week.  It was a mixture of symptoms and as such I couldn't even begin to classify it but ALL the adults in the household including my mum who came for a visit got it.  Fortunately we are on the mend.

I recently created an "inspired by" card from the front cover of the March/April issue of Paper Crafts Magazine (the button trees).  Debbie Olson is one of my stamping heroes.  She is such a sweetheart too.  We enjoyed some good talks back at winter CHA in 2009 and it was really neat to hear her take about card design.  I love how she has the ability to masterfully craft cards that are both simple or detailed.  I have learned a lot from her over the years (especially about Copics!) and am sure will be inspired by more years to come.  Thank you Debbie for all your contributions to the paper crafting world and your inspiration!!

Sorry to hear about your illness again...are you sure it's not something in the house that might be making you all so sick? You've all been sick soooo much, I worry about that for you. Take care!!

HI Ali,

which papercrafter do i admire - in all honesty more than I can count. But I'll pick one in the US, Nichole Heady - she's innovative, and has such a clean, fresh and fun style. I will also pick one Aussie, Teneale Williams - her work is absolutely beautfully made. But I could name so many more!including you :). I love to see what all the PTI designer come up with. Love your card Alli!

I love the clean/simple style that Kristina Werner and Maile Belles (ooo, I just thought of Jess Witty too...) have. They make cards with just the right embellishments/touches, without going over the top. I also like how their layouts are so easy to adapt for other stamps/images.

I LOVE this card so much! It is so pretty!

WoWzA, love this card!

I always love Nichole Heady's clean and simple creations and for a shabby-chic/vintage look, Melissa Phillips. One of my favorite designers is Tosh Leyendekker ... who isn't as well-known as some of the others mentioned but every bit as talented.

What a cute button tree Alli. And I love the hills of coloured DP - they're fantastic.

I have two chickadees who's blogs I am constantly peeking at.....Dawn McVey (http://www.dawnmcvey.typepad.com -love her clean and simple style, so wish I could master this technique - you seem to be able to do it quite well too) :)
and Amy Young (athousandsheetsofpaper.blogspot.com) who is on the Club Anya DT and also the designer behind Sweet November Stamps. They are both inspiring and amazing and I've learnt so much just from watching their blogs.

Your card is just adorable and just love all the details, colors, buttons and the stitching on this card. Thanks for this inspiring MOJO! There are so many crafters that inspires me with their creative MOJO, but one that really amazes me is Michelle Zindorf: http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/
She is amazing with a brayer. She takes paper, ink, and stamps and brings them to life.
Thanks for a chance at this sweet stamp set. Also I hope you start feeling better.

Sorry to hear you have been sick! We had the stomach flu/cold run through our house last month -- everyone got sick (which is unusual) AND everyone who came in contact with us got sick too! And a combination of symptoms affected us as well -- the worst being the stomach flu... I can relate! It took us more than a week to bounce back -- sending you good thoughts!

I would LOVE to win your set!! There are several crafters I admire, but Kim Hughes and Nichole Heady are tops on the list... You already have them linked, I am sure, so I am not alone... :)

Thanks!

If I'm going to pick just one, it would have to be Julie Lacey. Her cards are so simple and clean, and yet so beautiful. It's never an issue of adding so much stuff to the card that it gets overloaded. They're always beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Here is a link to her blog:

This might sound cheezy but I have always adored your work, Alli! Your website was one of the first sites I came across (about a year and a half ago) and I have been hooked ever since!

I love the simplicity and bright colours that you use in your designs!

Thanks for being such an inspiration!

Your card is so fun Alli! The polka dotted hills make me happy.

I already own Take Three: Spring (and love it BTW), so don't include me in the draw, but I wanted to say that Julie Campbell inspires me to no end! Always out-of-the box creative things I never would have thought of. She's amazing.

I'm aslo inspired by Alicia Paulsen
http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com

And because yours was one of the first 5 blogs I'd ever visited and I even participated in your "name my blog contest" (3 years ago now!) I have to say that you, Alli inspire me in many ways. Not just the creative ones either.

Hi Alli,
There are so many paper crafters that I love (Nichole Heady, Julie Ebersole, Jennifer McGuire, Julia Stainton, and you, of course).

I love clean and simple designs. I would have to say Kristina Werner was the first to inspire me, because she is the reason I started my blog. Her Make a Card Monday videos and her color inspiration challenges introduced me to this whole big world of paper crafters online. I'm forever thankful for that!

Lovely card! I always feel inspired like you did with that card when I see Dawn McVey's work. I stalk her blog and just adore her whole attitude. I won't bother to link her, because I know you already have her in your Daily Dose. :)

In addition to many others, I look at all the Papertrey designers' blogs with each and every post. But my all-time favorite is Melissa Phillips. I love how she makes everything look so soft and pretty. And I love how she writes. It is a treat just to look at her creations.

Your card is beautiful, I may have to CASE it. I am really inspired by Claire Brennen, of waltzingmouse stamps. Her work is simple exquisite. And to top it all off she is a wonderfully kind and sweet person.

Hello,
I normally don't leave comments as I never have much time. But can't resist the chance to win one of your gorgeous sets! I very much admire all the PTI girls, and of course Nichole Heady, but you are one of my go-to girls as well. Not trying to flatter you, it's just the truth.
Have a fun weekend, love
Alexandra

I have hundreds of papercraft blogs in my Google Reader, but the Papertrey folder is always my first stop. The whole design team is so inspiring!

Another blog I love in a similar style is "Witty Title Here" - don't you love the humor in that?
http://heatherpulvirenti.blogspot.com/

I also love collage and metal work, so in a completely different style of papercrafting I love Hels Sheridan's blog, "Ink on my Fingers"

One more favorite is "Pickled Paper Designs:

Oh my, it's hard to narrow it down to just one or two crafters who inspire me. I was following the entire team at PTI long before I started my own blog! But I'd have to say two of my favorite inspirations are Nicole Heady and Maile Belles. Nicole always has such creative new ideas that make me say "wow", and Maile has such a simple, beautiful style that reminds me that often less IS more.

Gladys said...

I dun have a favourite one because I am inspire by everyone. Everyone can create beautiful things and everyone can have their own style of prettiness! Thanks for sharing your blog. You have inspire me to create too :)

This card is just a DELIGHT Alli! To answer your question, I find inspiration from almost every blog I visit (and there are A LOT!), but if I have to pick one it would be Dawn McVey http://www.dawnmcvey.typepad.com/ I love her use of bright colors, and her simple, BOLD designs! Don't know why I'm so drawn to that, but I am ;)
