First Day of School...

Okay so not quite BUT it is the first day Kim Hughes ADORABLE new sets are available from CHF! These two sets Landing Pad and Making the Grade top my list of all time FAVs.

Today's card is playful. Imagine if you will grade 1 all over again. It amazes me that as we get older we seem to move away from the VIBRANT and BOLD colours we were drawn to when picking a crayon out of the box. As a result the colours I chose for this card had to be "grade 1". I decided that using the "trash" from the magic mesh backing would be a nice addition to this card and what better way then stapling it with my school teacher stapler. I also chose the brad accordingly.
You'll notice that I made the school house red with touches of black using the rock and roll technique (starting first with the red and then rolling the edges in black).

So the next time you are tempted to run away from the primary colours I say GO FOR IT! Go back to the grade one years and just have fun (no colour rules).

I wanted to take a close up to show you that I used a clear card and you'll also notice that I have adhered a piece of patterned paper in the inside of the card. It provides a nice contrast.

Another close up...I popped up the front of the school house using a pop dot.
