Another SIYJ card...

This is just a quick post to share another card from the Paper Pretties SIYJ event on Sunday (see my post below for more details!) This card was made for the technique challenge. It was the marble technique where you place a piece of cardstock at the bottom of an enclosed container, place some reinker drops above the cardstock and throw some marbles in the mix and shake it all about! You can see my "marbled strip" behind veggiebella. Oh and WHO doesn't think collecting veggies is like retail therapy in the garden? *smiles*

recipe
paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, Basic Black, Misc dp (from about 2003)
ink: Jet Black StazOn
stamp set(s): Veggiebella and Retail Therapy (purchased at Paper Pretties or Stampingbella)
accessories: Copic Ciao Markers, Ticket Corner (SU!), Summer Sun Reinker (SU!), Mellow Moss Reinker (SU!), Garden Green Reinker (SU!), Marbles, Container, Word Window Punch (SU!)

Don't forget you only have until the 4th to enter CHF's Grand Treasure Hunt (above). It has been SOOOO fun to read all the comments along the way. Thanks to all those who participated. If you are wondering, you can PURCHASE those sets THIS WEEK (the 4th!!!).

A prettie girl?? WHO ME?

The cat is officially out of the bag...Yes...I am officially a Paper Pretties girl

and you can read about it here.
Christie Ortman, owner of Paper Pretties (CANADIAN), approached me last month and asked if I would consider joining her team. Have you seen her store? Did I fall out of my seat? You betcha!
I am absolutely delighted to be joining her and the fab Prettie Girls team: Julie Masse, Julie Campbell, Jillian Winters, and Kristine Reynolds (my CHF teammate!). I have already had the pleasure of chatting with her by phone as well as online. These girls make an incredible team, are so supportive and have opened their arms wide open to accept me into the team. Thank you!
Today I had the pleasure of participating in the monthly SIYJ (stamping in your jammies) night. SIYJ is a FUN mini virtual stamp night where Christie issues a challenge once an hour for 3 hours for members of PaperPretties. By the end of the night you have 3 new cards. The rules are simple: 1) You must upload your card within the hour it is assigned 2) You may only use the stamps from the current or past PaperPretties card class boxes. Talk about FUN FUN FUN!
Here is the card I made for Christie's sketch challenge:

recipe
paper: Prints Series DP (SU!), Whisper white, Kraft, Cool Carribean (SU!)
ink: Jet Black Stazon
stamp set(s): Veggiebella (Stampingbella can be purchased at Paper Pretties), You glow Girl (Stampingbella)
accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware (SU!), Photo Corners Punch (SU!), Oval Punch (SU!), Copic Ciao Markers

Stay tuned for even MORE exciting news LATE tonight!!!!! I will be posting again no questions asked cause this is BIG!

A Tweety Bird for you!

Today's AWESOME SUPERSTAR..stamping MOMMA Jenn Balcer was chosen as the Featured Stamper challenge. Have you ever seen this girl's work? For as far back as I can remember I started seeing Jenn's work on the SU! demo website and then on SCS. Her name was familiar to me as early as 2004. To me, it was people like Jenn and Beate that headed the stamping revolution *wink*
Thank you BOTH for your inspiration.
I must say browsing through Jenn's gallery is a treat. How do you decide what card to CASE when they are ALL good!
I finally decided to case this one. You'll note that while I kept with the bird theme, I turned the colours up a notch, added some hodgepodge and VOILA a bright tweety bird!

recipe

paper: Celebrate DP (American Crafts), Amy Butler DP, Whisper White, Ruby Red, Blue Bayou
ink: Jet Black StazOn
stamp set(s): A Tweet For You (CHF), Bird on Egg (Savvy)
accessories:Copic Ciao Markers, Taffeta (Blue and White), Chocolate Chip Stampin Write Marker

Don't forget to stay tuned TOMORROW!!!! It's a VERY important day.

Let's Here it for the boy...

and if you are like me you are singing the rest of that song from Footloose. Oh I am so a child of the 80s!
When I first spied this handsome MFT set I nearly fell over in my chair it screams MAN! How many sets do you know are really masculine without a western feel to it? This set provides versatility. What I most liked about it was adding the accessories to the picture. Now THAT is fun stamping. Seriously, it's like playing house. I get to choose the decorations (did you notice I chose the fish?) paint the walls, coordinate the carpet with the surroundings etc. I also like the fact that I can include grandparents with this set. It is difficult to get a good masculine theme stamp set let alone one that includes grandpa!
Yes, I am a little late in posting cards with this set. I have had it for close to 2 months now and it has been calling me ever since. Does anyone have some reserve time in the day to send me? I could sure use it right about now *wink*

recipe

paper: whisper white (SU!), chocolate chip (SU!), MME DP
ink: Jet Black StazOn
stamp set(s): Let's Here it For the Boy (MFT)
accessories: word window (SU!), Copic Ciao Markers

Have a fantastic weekend. Make sure you stop by to see a BIG annoucement in the next few days. I can hardly wait to share it with you.

My Fishafella...

There is a man in my life (my dear sweet husband!) who loves fishing just about as much as I love stamps...so that means A LOT! I tend to get caught up in stamping and forget that he needs a break to go fishing every once in a while. It's his birthday in less than a month and I wanted to create a card that kept the fun of stamping in a "fishy" kind of way. I actually plan to make him two cards this year as I own CHF's It Doesn't Get Much Better stamp (yes the BIG ONE) and I want to do something special with that stamp too.

recipe
paper: Chatterbox DP, Kraft (SU!), Chocolate Chip (SU!), Whisper White (SU!)
ink: Jet Black StazOn
stamp set(s): Fishafella (Stamping Bella), Life's Simple Pleasures (A*Muse)
accessories: Rectangle Scallop Punch (Marvy), Copic Ciao Markers, Misc Ribbon

Don't forget to check out the CHF links below...those new stamp set sneak peaks are incredible.
