Birthday Fishes...

I have had the idea of making a submersible card for a while (ok so it's not really submersible but you get it right?). The fish from Pond Life were my inspiration and those brads were the icing on the cake. In fact, I will send a shout out to Gina K because she recently featured them on her blog and I completely forgot I had them in my stash. Speaking of Gina...this sewed card is the direct result of her. Thanks for my Janome Gina, I love it!!!

I began my design by sewing my card and base. Then I stamped the background with the polka dot basics. I placed the overlay (clear sheet) and punched holes using the word window and stamped birthday fishes.

As you can see from this photo, I stamped the fish, used the 1 1/4 inch punch a circle around them, used the 1/2 circle punch to punch a circle in the berry sorbet paper (note: punch the smaller circle from your paper BEFORE you punch the larger one. It gives you more play in choosing the right window). I adhered the fish to the back of the peak-a-boo windows and pierced them before mounting them with a dimensional to a circle measuring 1 3/8. As a final touch I added the screw brads to not only hold the clear sheet in place but also to give the card a finished look.

A little Madra Design and a winner!

I am so excited to announce that the random generator chose number #26
The lucky winner of the Wedding Day stamp set is

Blogger Skye who said...

Wedding Day is one of may favorites from Papertrey that is on my wish list! I've been waiting for that darned tax rebate to come in, so I can buy it. It looks like it could be as early as Monday, but I would sure love to win it! That would make it that much sweeter.
So here goes the list: Wedding Day, Shapes by Design, and Garden of Life for PTI. Also Tiled Scallops backgrounder for CHF (also on my wish list!)

Skye, please drop me a line and let me know your snail mail address so I can send out your goodies today!!!

Today's card is a quick card. I like to challenge myself to make a card under ten minutes at least once a week. I challenge you to do that too! I know we can all get into a card and lose an hour or two. Since my newest PTI order arrived last week I could hardly wait to use Pond Life created by Candice Aguilar. This is just about the CUTEST set ever.
